THE REAL AFRICA – ECO TOUR is a journey into real Africa. You will meet the Mijikenda both rich and poor only in the local concept. Meet, learn and participate in the artisan’s work in the community who make mats and baskets.

    0930hrs :Pick up guests from hotel after an early breakfast and depart for the village tour, we take you on a real Africa Eco Tour otherwise known as sustainable tourism which is a full day eye opener programme in an exclusive transportation in a safari equipped minivan with pop-up roof for sightseeing & a tour guide at your disposal taking you through the remote village to see, talk, meet, taste and socialize with the real rural Kenyans - the mijikenda community in particular the Giriama people. In Kenya we have more than 42 tribes speaking different dialects Mijikenda/Giriama being one of them.

  • 1245hrs:After this exciting morning field trip, we drive to Bombolulu workshop and cultural centre for a traditional buffet Lunch or similar. You will get the very best of African cuisine, all inclusive of a soft drinks or a beer and local wine.

  • 0200hrs:The second thrilling session starts after LUNCH when now you visit and see 9 different other tribes home stead’s a replica as they exist in the one rural Kenya setting. In this you engage & join both the Maasai and the traditional dancers in dancing and competing to jump higher, you also try out the local brew/foods, grinding, hunting using the arrow, mat weaving, rafting, pounding maize and trekking among others. After which you are transferred back to your hotel after having learnt and experienced the Kenyan culture and cuisine.

  • Highlights: REAL AFRICA ECO- TOUR:

    The tour also takes you to visit two village institutions: One a kindergarten in the village and second an orphanage centre within the village with children hard hit by a variety of problems. For men mostly watch the coconut wine tapper climb the 60ft coconut tree to tap the wine and try too to climb and tap the traditional wine (MNAZI) Will then walk to the village witchdoctor if you are lucky he will divine a solution to your problems and who’s not lucky in Africa?

  • This tour is a perrect journey into real Africa (A percentage of income from “Real Africa –Eco tour” will be ploughed back to the community).
