7 DAYS & 6 NIGHTS: KILIMANJARO CLIMBING

A full week on safari! The variety of Kenya’s and Tanzania's land, wildlife and scenery is an endless fascination on this easy paced tour. There will be plenty of time for you to view game and relax at key points during this family friendly safari.

  DAY 1: Arrive Moshi

  Upon arrival at the Taveta border, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Meet your climbing guide for briefing and final gear check. Overnight at the hotel.

  Day 2: Moshi- Mandara Hut (9,020ft/2750m)

  After breakfast, drive to the Kilimanjaro National park gate at Marangu gate an altitude of 1,860m for entry registration. Start the trek to Mandara hut through thick rain forest. Have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and retire to bed.

  Day 3: Mandara Hut–Horombo Hut (12,200ft/3720m)

  Start early morning for a ten hours walk towards Horombo with your packed lunch. The landscape becomes more rugged and rocky but superb, with both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view. Note: - An extra day for acclimatization can be added by staying another night at Horombo Hut.

  day 4&5: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (15,420ft/4700m) - Uhuru Peak/Summit (19,340ft/5895)

  Take a tiring 13km walk which takes 6hrs to Kibo hut. Spectacular mountain vegetation like giant cactus, ground well and lobelia appear. Dinner and rest till midnight. The final attempt to the summit is made in the early hours of the morning at 2.00am. it takes about hours to climb the steepest and most difficult part of the route to Gilman’s point. From Gilman’s it takes 1and half to 2hours to Uhuru peak where you take your memorable photos. Descend to Kibo Hut for breakfast. Continue to Horombo Hut for the days’ and nights’ rest

  Day 6&7: Horombo Hut – Moshi - Mombasa via Taveta

  Day 6, Descend is rapid. After breakfast, walk down to Marangu gate for transfer to Moshi. Overnight stay at Moshi. Day 7, Depart Moshi for Taveta border and board Kenyan vehicle for onward travel to Mombasa.
