Nanyuki town is the hub of the local area, showing remnants of a mid century settler town, British Army outpost and a growing hub for artisan businesses. The town is serviced by 3 small private airports and local bus services to surrounding areas.
-
Travellers Paradise
Kongoni itself is set in the trees with lush gardens, back from the road about 3km north of Nanyuki town. There’s a wealth of things to do in the area from high-end safari clubs, to nature walks, extreme sports, game drives, local village culture, some spectacular examples of innovative conservation plus amazing flora and fauna.

Observing Mt. Kenya
At 5,199 m, Mount Kenya is the second highest peak in Africa. It’s an ancient extinct volcano, which during its period of activity (3.1-2.6 million years ago) is thought to have risen to 6,500 m, it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kongoni Camp is situated less than 2 km from Nanyuki Town northwest of Mt Kenya off the Meru road. Kongoni Camp has one of the most beautiful views of the mountain and is a hub for trekkers climbing the Sirimon and Burguret routes

Nature's Masterpiece
Situated northwest of Mt Kenya, Kongoni Camp is a piece of paradise set in a cedar cypress forest glade, with Mt Kenya as an iconic backdrop. With a good range of facilities on offer, Kongoni Camp offers quality accommodation in an informal atmosphere, a grill pizzeria menu, bar and coffee shop. Kongoni Camp is an ideal jump off spot for mountain enthusiasts, those who want to tour Laikipia or those looking for a weekend getaway.
Food-wise, with such great produce in the region, we’ve become steak experts, but also have a traditional wood fired pizza oven to make a variety of delicious thin crust pizzas. For those who like the less traditional we have an extensive Indian menu and a Japanese menu. They bake their own bread, their breakfasts are legendary and during the day there’s great coffee and homemade cake. Their bar has a top shelf to die for!
